It Consulting Company Utilizes Smart Remote Monitoring & Management Solution

‘Everybody knows someone who can fix broken computers.’ that’s how Stephen Myers, handling Partner at InfiNetwork, describes the puzzle his IT consulting firm faced after 18 years of business. ‘The break-fix model has turned into a commodity, which makes it very tough to earn profits.’ to flee the downward spiral of the break-fix business, Myers wanted to provide clients with higher value, proactive managed services. Today, N-able’s N-central platform and velocity plan are driving a new, more moneymaking managed services financial model at InfiNetwork.
Beyond the power to offer his shoppers more proactive, managed network services, Myers was also trying to find a predictable income model to help manage their business and plan for growth.
however finding just the right enterprize model and a technology to support managed services was a challenge, because InfiNetwork offers a range of best-of-breed solutions from Microsoft, Novell and Linux.

InfiNetwork also required an Remote Monitoring & Management platform that would allow it to support multiple buyers on the same infrastructure and to ensure the security of those customers’ data. Today, InfiNetwork is able to offer a good range of managed services to its customers – some primarily based on N-central’s own capacities, and others that InfiNetwork develops or integrates on its own. That will result in a service request portal for InfiNetwork shoppers permitting them to log on and see the standing of their own service requests.

Beyond changing what InfiNetwork is ready to provide from a service perspective, N-able has also transformed the relationship InfiNetwork has with its purchasers.
‘We talk about business efficiency and business uptime and we can put numbers around that.’ InfiNetwork conducts quarterly’CIO visits’ in which the company presents each client with network performance metrics from the previous quarter and counsels upgrades or changes based on those metrics.
‘We can have a very different conversation with the entrepreneur now,’ Myers summarizes. ‘We look ahead and plan with them. We are no longer just related to a difficulty they must pay for – it’s more like a strategic partnership.’ This has also helped InfiNetwork change some of the unwelcome chats that will occur with other vendors. Formerly, Myers says, when a buyer’s Internet connection went down,’It would just be finger-pointing as the ISP would say the difficulty was at our end. This places us in a position of strength when dealing with ISPs.’ More shoppers, Better Business InfiNetwork launched its new managed services at a client event that N-able not only co-hosted but also helped get ready for. It forced us to get our program together, including services lines, pricing, promoting collateral and more. N-able understands that their success is tied to their partners’, and their eagerness to provide training, selling resources and more after the sale was a pleasing surprise.”N-able’s velocity blueprint forced us to consider what we were going to supply, a way to package it and the way to market it,’ he continues. InfiNetwork has changed existing customers to the annuity model and signed on new customers, including some further a-field. ‘We have new shoppers outside the state due to N-central’s RMM capability,’ Myers explains.

The district has been an InfiNetwork purchaser for a long while and recently switched to a managed services software program. Becky Pogan, Director of Finance for the District announces,’InfiNetwork’s external monitoring service has aided them to proactively identify little Problems before they become big enough to close our system down. They brought our system up to where it needed to be and have productively maintained it, noticeably getting shot of system down-time.’
