If you want to know how to speed up the old computer that you have, this article can help. As a computer repair tech, one of the biggest issues that I see is a client that has a PC that has begun to slow to a crawl. They remember how the computer was when they first bought it. It was fast, nimble, and programs opened very quickly. But now the computer runs like a dog. Here are some things that you should look at to make a PC run like new again.

As programs get added to your PC, they begin to fill up the hard drive. As the hard drive gets filled up it begins to slow down. It takes your computer longer and longer to access files on the drive. This isn’t because you have too much data on your drive. It is because the programs are spread out across the drive. You need to check out a good defragger to realign the data that is on your drive so that your PC can access it faster.

Also, as you add new applications to your operating system your registry will begin to bloat. It begins taking up more space than it actually requires. To fix this you want to look at a registry optimizer. A registry optimizer will help you reduce the size of the registry as well as fix any errors that may exist within the registry.

You need to run antivirus software, but some of the more popular packages that are available can really slowly your machine down. Try to find an anti virus package that is lightweight and does not take up that many system resources. Yes, antivirus software is very important, but some do perform better than others while providing the same level of protection.

Right now memory is really cheap, so figure out how much system memory you have and try to increase it. I was just working on a computer that only had 256 MB of memory, and taking the computer up to 1 GB of memory helped the machine run so much better.

These steps can help you revive an old computer. And they are the same steps that I use when I want to improve the speed at which a computer runs. I hope this can help you save money before you invest in a new machine. Software tools like I have described really can make a huge difference!

Buying a new computer isn’t the way to go if you need your PC to run faster. The truth is, your current computer is more than likely powerful enough if it has been purchased in the last four or five years. “But it feels slow!” That may be the case, but that isn’t always because of the hardware that is inside your PC. You see, what happens is that over time your computer starts running poorly. Let’s talk about why this happens and then discuss some ways that you can get your computer back up to speed!

I bet you’ve installed some applications on your PC, right? Of course you did. Those are what we use that make a PC worth owning. But the more software you install, the slower your PC runs. Why is this? Every application that is installed gets put into locations such as your local hard drive (think of this like a storage closet) and your computer’s registry (think of this as the engine in your car). After time, things build up and you might run out of space, or your registry becomes bulky and slow, causing the PC to start running like a dog.

Do you remember when you first got your computer and how fast it seemed? That is because there wasn’t much on it, and the files on your hard drive weren’t fragmented. Fragmented files means that things such as pictures or music on your hard drive are spread out all over the place, instead of being neatly aligned as they should be. Fragmentation causes your computer to start slowing down.

So what can you do to speed things back up? First, you want to investigate a good de-fragmenter. The defragger built into Windows XP (and Vista & Windows 7) is adequate but there are much better versions out there. This will give you a significant speed boost.

The next thing is to check and see what files are running at start-up. Some apps run when you turn your computer on and they stay there “resident” the whole time. These start-up files can really impact the speed of your PC.

After that, you want to locate a good registry repair tool. There are many available on the web, and what they do is compact and repair your registry to get everything back up to speed.

Try these before you decided it is time to purchase a new computer. I work as a computer repair tech and using these methods I have been able to save my clients tons of money by making their computers run like new again!

If you power on your computer and it stops dead before ever getting anywhere close to launching your operating system, it is quite indisputable that you just may have some form of spyware crawling around in your system. Spyware commonly slips into your PC masked as some innocent file, and when it is inside your system it can do damage. Spyware in your computer system may be your biggest situation come true, but you should recognize that there are things that someone can do even when the spyware is in your PC.

So, how can you do this repair on your own and save your time and money?

You can use one of the many web-based spyware repair software programs that exist. These tools have a listing of all recognized spyware applications, and they compare all of the data files in your system to their wide-ranging spyware database. When the removal software finds the spyware file, it lets you choose what to do with it. Unless the spyware is integrated in a precious file, the most standard selection is to clean the offending file.

When spyware is inside your computer the optimum thing that may come about is nothing at all, but the potential for rapid tragedy is always looming. So by running the online spyware detecting apps, you can stay on top of this troublesome problem and protect your computer from any damage.

When you realize what has taken place you might fear the worst, but there are ways that you can stop the effects of malware.

So, how can this repair be completed?

A web-based Malware removal program. These programs have a list of all known malware applications, and they compare all of the data files in your system to their enormous malware list. After the malware file has been located, you can erase it from your system. If the malware application has intertwined itself with some other data file that you use, you may choose to leave it in place; otherwise simply delete it.

Malware may not affect your computer right away, but there is a day when it will strike. You can avoid the issue of malware slipping into your computer system by applying one of the numerous web-based malware removal tools.

Malware is one of the deadliest and most irritating things that can infect your computer. It is such a huge problem that it makes up the bulk of my computer repair business. But you can remove malware manually using new web based tools, and this article will tell you how!

A bit like a computer virus, malware infects your computer reeking mayhem wherever it chooses, so that you aren’t quite sure what it is doing. Malware is malicious software that pops up undesired in to your PC and puts the stableness of the whole OS at risk. Often it may appear as if everything is lost, and for the moment it just might well be, but fortunately there are tools to get rid of Malware.

So, how can this repair be completed?

You should try one of the numerous online malware repair software tools available. These web-based cleaners go through your system and compare all of your data files to their voluminous database of all known malware applications. After the malware removal tool locates a malware app functioning on your system, it lets you decide if you want to remove it or not. Unless the malware is embedded in a invaluable data file, the most standard selection is to erase the offensive file.

Once malware is inside your computer the optimum thing that might materialise is nothing at all, but the potential for imminent disaster is constantly there. Thankfully there are software programs that will help identify malware and clean it from you computer.

As a PC repair guy that restores computers all day long I know that it is a lot less problematic and less costly to use a malware cleaning program than it is to hire tech.

Tasks as simple as turning your computer off, starting a game or defragmenting the hard drive of your computer rely on its registry. The registry stores information which gives your computer instructions on how to complete tasks. It’s not a static document – every time you add a program to your PC, new information is stored in the registry. This can make it particularly prone to problems. Sometimes the program you add doesn’t work, it may take up a lot of room in the registry or it may duplicate. Your computer relies on the registry to complete tasks, which is why its overall effectiveness is compromised if it’s not working properly.

Signs there may be a problem include a general slowing down of the system, a blue screen or the inability to run some programs. You may even start to see strange errors. Sometimes these problems are wrongly attributed to a virus or the age of your computer. Contrary to popular belief, older computers should still operative effectively. If it doesn’t, it may simply be a problem with your registry. It’s certainly advisable to rule this out before upgrading your PC.

If you believe you have a problem, you need to find a good registry fix. The worse thing you can do is ignore it. Many people have done this and regretted it because the problem will only get worse and worse. You should act fast to avoid any permanent damage. Remember, the registry stores loads of information which your computer relies on to operate.

If you’ve been left staring at your PC monitor wondering why it keeps mis-behaving, you are likely suffering the results of malware that was delivered into your system and has set out infecting it. Malware can get into your system any number of ways, and once it infects your PC you cannot block it from causing damage to the system. While it’s very probable that malware has made your system useless, it is also quite likely that you might repair your system and get rid of the malware.

How can the malware be safely removed from my PC? And can I prevent this in the future?

Malware removal software is available online. This software compares all of your data files to all identified malware files and hunts for matches. After the malware file has been identified, you can delete it from your system. If the malware application has intertwined itself with some other file that you might need, you may decide to keep it in place; otherwise go ahead and clean it.

If you have malware in your system you can be sure that it will show itself at the most inopportune time possible. By utilizing malware sensing applications, you will stay one step ahead of the malicious software and the trouble it wants to do to your system.

Working as a computer repair guy I get to restore many PCs that have been infected with malware, and I utilise these exact removal applications to rid a PC of any malware.

An online Malware cleaner program. These programs work by running a search of every last file in your machine, and checks these files against their database of known Malware applications.
